Aussies spend big on fashion post-lockdown

Australian retail sales rose 7.3% to a record high $33.4 billion for the month of November 2021 as harsh lockdowns along Australia’s east coast came to an end, according to data compiled by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Online shopping remains elevated across the country as COVID-fear keeps Aussies shopping from the comfort of their homes despite harsh lockdowns ending months ago.

Despite online retail still dominating, the number of Aussies venturing back into department stores rose 26% for the month, while online sales fell by 8.7% for November to $3.7bn.
